Welcome to my website. I am an artist now based in Oxford. Throughout my career, I have experimented with different techniques and methods: working with pastels, etchings, oils, acrylics and clay. Examples of all of these can be found here on my website. More recently I have focussed on zinc-plate etching. A geographer by training, I have always chosen subjects that are not only beautiful but also interesting from either a historical or scientific perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Printmaking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I am an active member of Oxford Printmakers Co-op <\/a>where I do a lot of printmaking – mostly etchings. The printmaking workshop is a happy place to work and share ideas and is well stocked with materials and knowledgeable technicians. It’s often full of fun and interesting artists. I love it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Drawings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since I married, a Geologist , my family life has been peripatetic and this gave a broader perspective of the physical world which inspired me to keep drawing and continue to try new techniques particularly pastel drawing, etching and 3-D work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I have used clay and different kinds of stone to make my sculptures which model parts of the human body. See my Sculpture page<\/a> for more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rocks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With a background in Earth Sciences  and a husband with a life-long passion for rocks then Land and Rock form a large part of my artistic focus particularly in recent years. See my Land and Rocks<\/a> page for more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Since moving to Iffley, Oxford I have found much to inspire me from the Ancient IffleyYew to the Romanesque stone sculptures in the Norman Church as well as the Isis river and Lock. See my Iffley Village<\/a> page for more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
